Mixtape Review: Trebol Clan- The Comeback

Bueno mi gente,

I just finished listening to Trebol Clan's new album, "The Comeback". Trebol Clan brings collaborations with Casa de Leones (minus Jowell y Randy), Plan B, and Master Joe- all mainstays in pure Reggaeton, and all very good artists. The album sounds a little rushed, and they could have been a little more artistic in making music. I did like it, however...

1- Eso No Se Vale- I love the dembow on this track... This is a sub-par introduction for a Trebol Clan CD, though the song is ok. Not feeling the singing at all, and this track is over produced, and every effect in the book was used.

2- Mueve Lo Que Te Dio Tu Mama- Now this should have been the intro track! This track really raises expectations for the rest of the album. This is pure cacoteo y bellaqueo! Nasty muthafuckas! You wanna see sex on the dancefloor? Turn this one all the way up!

3- En La Disco Aprieta ft. Plan B- Yo, for like a minute I was like wtf? Entonces pega el dembow... Plan B+dembow is always nasty! Esto es perreo! "Bailando me la chingo, y no la beso"! Listen to the lirica! Bwaaajajajaja! I love it!

4- Mamen To ft. Master Joe- This track been around for a while. They went straight durrty durrty on this one! Pa los que dicen que'l Reggaeton no es Hip Hop! Mamen to!

5- Vamonos de Aqui- Uhhh... fuck lloriqueo!And fuck Autotune (T-Pain effect)!

6- Mala Mia- Mama, traga lo que te de la gana! Jajajajajaja! Read #2! By the end of the song you will be singing Mama traga lo que te de la gana!

7- Dale Enrola y Prende ft. Master Joe- This track was dedicated to me in the beginning! (Esto es dedicado a todos los fumadores!) Yeahh! Fumo creepy! Dale encieeeende ese blon! I posted this one a while back, but I still love it! This is the most old school track I've heard in a long time!

8- Explota Nota Remix (ft. J-King y Maximan, Guelo Star, y Plan B)- Now get this- Casa de Leones was J-King, Maximan, Guelo Star, Jowell, and Randy Nota Loca. At first I thought this was a diss track against Randy, but it sounds like some bellaqueo! Nice track!

9- Wow- Hmmm... this song has too much influence from past releases by other artists. You can dance to this, but I wouldn't burn it for the ride.

10- No Te Enamores ft. J-King y Maximan- This track had a lot of potential, but they are re-using too many rhymes. It's not original, and it turned me off as a writer and artist, but I can see others loving this track if they don't really listen to the words in a track.

11- Mamen To Reggaeton Remix- Same as the original but with a nice, hard dembow. Now you can dance while you smoke!

12- Amor Prohibido- The name itself is a turn off. Again- FUCK LLORIQUEO! KEEP BACHATA OFF OF REGGAETON ALBUMS!

13- Vente Conmigo- Nothing new. Nothing original. This is the kind of track that gives cannonfodder to those who hate the overuse of dembow in Reggaeton.

14- Orgazmo (Master Joe)- I don't know what a Master Joe track is doing on a Trebol Clan album, but it's a better close than their last track!

This album was very anticipated by fans, and I feel they have let their fans down. There are some great tracks on this album, don't get me wrong, but with a Master Joe track, a bachata track, and at least two wack romantic tracks I enjoyed 10 or less tracks out of a 14 track album. That is a better percentage than a lot of albums lately, so I give this one tres punto cinco cocos!
