Bueno mi gente,
Fher Olvera, lead singer of the Mexican rock group Mana, has sent out a press release in which he, for the first time for the 48 year old, makes his political sentiments known. Here is some of what he said...“Sentimos que el posible triunfo de Barack Obama es una oportunidad histórica. La campaña del senador Obama ha trascendido los temas raciales y ha unido a la gente. Ha unificado a negros, blancos, latinos, asiáticos, a los indios norteamericanos y a gente de todas las edades, a través de todo Estados Unidos, alrededor del deseo y la posibilidad de hacer de nuestro mundo, un mundo mejor”.
We feel that the possible triumph of Barack Obama is an historic opportunity. His campaign has transcended race and has united the people. He has united blacks, whites, latinos, asians, Native Americans, and people of all ages across America, based on the desire and the possibility of making our world a better place.
I agree with Fher, and this endorsement probably won't bring many votes, but he is very well respected amongst the latino community as Mana's music often touches on socio-economic issues, civil rights, etc. They are also the only "punk rock latino" group that I listen to, and I happen to LOVE their music!
Porque yo lo dije!
